The world of digital entertainment is one of the largest industries in
the world. The most widely known film industry is Hollywood, without
question. Other than Hollywood, regional film industries exist in almost
every country in the world, especially in Asian countries. In the
countries that don’t have their own film industry, this market still
grows because movies from other countries are watched there.
However, the economic system of the filming industry remains traditional although this industry develops into a better form every moment. Most of the revenues will go to cinema chains and other businesses, which makes content creators and producers receive less than what they deserve. This problem does not emerge from nowhere; it begins from the start of the creation of a movie.
Problems in the Economics of a Movie Production
The start of a movie production process is marked when a scriptwriter or
someone with ideas gets in contact with producers, who will agree to
fund the making of this movie if they like the idea. These producers
will either fund this production themselves, using a crowdfunding, or
attracting a number of investors.
After a movie has been successfully or partially created, it will be
pre-sold to distributors such as cinema chains and broadcasters.
Although this step could be done smoothly, both the content creator and
producer don’t know whether or not their project will succeed.
The publication of a movie also gives most of the profit to the
distributors like broadcasters and cinemas. This is definitely unfair
for the creators, since they are the ones who come up with the idea and
the distributors are just selling them to the public. Ideally, the
creators and all parties who work behind the scene deserve the most
percentage of the profit received.
When people start to watch a movie, they often leave reviews and critics
which might be useful for the creators. Although this is mostly done
voluntarily, it would be better if people are offered incentives for
giving reviews and feedbacks so more audiences are encouraged to provide
information.
Multiple companies also use movies as a media to promote their products
or services. However, without the participation of enough audiences, the
effectivity of these advertisements cannot be correctly measured.
A Solution Provided by Spuul
The creators of Spuul believe that it is actually possible to reward
every participant including scriptwriters, producers, and distributors
along the process of making a film. In order to make this system unique,
the Spuul platform has its own token called SPOKKZ.
In the development of a movie, Spuul will help the creator because there
will be held an offering to watch a sample of that particular work in
exchange of tokens. That way, the creators and producers can collect
funds to ensure that the further development of their project can be
carried out. The parties who decide to fund this production will also
get bonus tokens from Spuul in exchange.
After the movie is published, reviewers can get tokens as a reward for
their participation. Outside the Spuul ecosystem, reviews, ratings, and
analysis are given by viewers in exchange for nothing, although they
often do it voluntarily. However, the feedbacks of a movie will
hopefully get significantly more effective if audiences are offered
incentives for sharing their opinions.
Audiences who help movies become more widely known will also get rewards
– they are called the viral reward token and content distribution
rewards. If a viewer shares the content they watch to other potential
audience, they will get tokens as a reward for their enthusiasm.
Token Sale
From the total of one billion SPOKKZ tokens issued, of course the
revenues that come from all period of sales will be divided between
several sectors of Spuul ecosystem.
Most of the tokens are allocated for the running economy. Forty three
percent of the tokens, or 430 million tokens, are allocated for this
purpose.
The next thirty percent of the tokens are allocated to be sold to the
public during all stages of coin offering. That means 300 million tokens
will be released for public sale. With the value of each token being
0.08 US Dollars, it will bring enough profit to continue the development
of this platform.
Goals
The development of Spuul began in the fourth quarter of 2017 and
targeted to end in the first quarter of 2019. These goals have been
projected: funding the second batch of movies, getting a hundred million
users, and running a tokenized loyalty program.
